♥ ❤ ❥ 6. balance Me. Rose Otto Body Cream ♥ ❤ ❥

The Oh Lola! Perfume was a Valentines day present and it is currently my go-to perfume of choice. The fragrance is light and sweet with floral tones and it is gorgeous!

I only got the 'Katie' blusher by Illamasqua a couple of days ago but i love it so much!! It is a really beautiful light pink with a blue tone and it is so flattering on light skin tones. The garnier rose cleanser is something i have used time and time again to remove makeup at night and also to cleanse with in the morning and i know i will repurchase this product again and again. MAC pink nouveau is a gorgeous pink shade that is so flattering and was one of my most lusted after MAC lipsticks for ages.

The OPI Nicki Minaj 'Pink Friday' nail lacquer is the perfect girly pink shade and is gorgeous on, i want the full size i love this so much. The rose otto body cream has a beautiful scent and is something i received in my Valentines Glossybox, it's only a small sample size but i am hoping to get more soon.

What do you think of my 'pink' post, do you have any pink favourites?

Vanilla Truffle - Estee Lauder Lipstick Review

The Perfect Nude?

Hi everyone! I hope you are all well, this review is of another Estee Lauder lipstick i picked up on the weekend from my local House of Fraser for £19.50. I picked this shade as i can't get enough of nude shades at the moment, they're just so versatile and wearable for day-to-day activity, i could have about a hundred nude lippys and it wouldn't be enough :D

As you can see Vanilla Truffle is a gorgeous nude/caramel shade, swatch and application photos are shown below:

I really love this lipstick and it is my favourite shade of the moment, possibly the perfect nude shade!

The Tartan Scarf Post

Crazy about Tartan

Hi everyone, hope you're having a lovely start to the week - what is up with this snowstorm?? Crazy behaviour! This post is about a lovely tartan scarf i picked up on the weekend. I've been after a tartan scarf for a good while now and when i spotted this in Save the Children (i'm a regular charity shop shopper) i couldn't resist it for £4! This was originally from H&M but thankyou to whoever decided it was unwanted because it will be much loved by me.

March Glossybox - Review

City Chic

Hi everyone, this morning i opened the door to a lovely surprise in the form of Glossybox! It doesn't seem too long since the fabulous Valentine's box came out for February, but here we are let's see what Glossybox has brought us this month.

So it's a 'city chic' themed box based on a groomed city girl's 'look' and included this month is a city guide with insider tips, there are some cute stickers inside too.

1. Perfume Sample: Couture La La by Juicy Couture
2. TRESemme Salon Finish Extra Hold Hairspray
3. Jelly Pong Pong Lip Blush
4. Elizabeth Arden Eight Hour Skin Cream Protectant Fragrance Free
5. Nails Inc St. James

Ok, at first glance i'm not feeling the rush of love i had for the February box as we all know the disappointment experienced when we spot a perfume sample as it is a bit of a cop out. However there are a couple of things that catch my eye such as the Jelly Pong Pong Lip Blush and the Nails Inc polish as it's a great colour. However on the downside the perfume sample and the Elizabeth Arden cream really let this box down as they are sample sizes you could get yourself from a department store counter and as these 2 products are poor it does make this box a little disappointing. The hairspray is something i always need but i could take it or leave it if i'm honest and i expected something a little more exciting!

Sorry to sound so down about this box it's just kind of annoying when they follow what i thought was a great box last month with a bit of a dud box this month, but i guess it's the luck of the draw. I'm sure i'll change my mind as soon as i get that polish on my nails :D

My Illamasqua FOTD

I was a winner!

Hi everyone, this post is a face of the day i have created using lovely Illamasqua goodies which i was lucky enough to win in a giveaway which was run by the lovely Grace from All That Slap. I won this particular giveaway moons ago and have been meaning to put together a look with the products but didn't get around to it, UNTIL NOW! :D

This is what i was lucky enough to win!

- Illamasqua False Eye Lashes
- Illamasqua Liquid Metal in shade 'Electrum'
- Illamasqua Intense Lipgloss in shade 'Femme'
- Illamasqua Powder Blusher in shade 'Hussy'
- Illamasqua Medium Pencil in shade 'Sophie'
- Illamasqua Nail Varnish in shade 'Lament'

Wow, i have never used Illamasqua products before in my life, but let me tell you, i have been missing out! I am SO impressed with the colour payoff and the quality of each product is absolutely amazing. I will do individual reviews on each product, but for now i will show you the look i have created which is more of an evening look for me when the eyelashes are incorporated, however if you whip them off it becomes a wearable glamorous daytime look!

What do you think? I hope you enjoyed my Illamasqua FOTD and if you have any product recommendations please let me know them as this is a brand i have fallen in love with!

Nicole by OPI 'KardashionKolor' - Review

I spy OPI

Hi everyone! This post is a review of the Nicole by OPI KardashianKolor "Celeb-bitties" set i got from TK Maxx yesterday for £4.99. I don't think the Kardashians need any further introductions as i am sure we are all sick to death aware of them.

Hmm so to be completely honest i'm not particularly enamoured by this collaboration. I'm not a huge fan of the shades shown here but unexpectedly my least favourite is actually Kim's shade; Kim-pletely in Love. It's a sheer pink with a very tiny amount of shimmer and i'm not loving it at all. My second least favourite would be the All Kendall-ed up as i just find it a little cheap looking. My favourite shade would be the Sealed with a Kris as this is a lovely deep red shade and is probably the most wearable out of the set. Wear Something Spar-Kylie is quite nice too, but i'm not in love with it.

Overall i'd say i won't be getting a lot of wear from this set but I think the younger generation would love it. Although i am only 23 and i've been an OPI fan for years but to be honest i expected more from the Kardashians (god knows why), but in this case it just seems a bit of a sell-out. For £4.99 i guess i can't be too cheesed off.

What do you think of this set?

TK Maxx Spree

To Haul or Not to Haul

Hi guys, this morning i went to my local TK Maxx 'flagship' store which opened this morning on the Meole Brace retail park in Shrewsbury. The first 500 people through the doors at 9am received a free £10 gift card, so to my boyfriend's embarassment i brought him along with me and we actually queued whilst waiting for the doors to open. I'm not sure if i bought enough to constitute a haul, as i know some people are quite fervent about the fact that a few things only does not maketh a haul... so i guess i just got a few bits!

I've got quite a nail polish obsession now, so when i saw the 'Kardashian Kolor' set by OPI i snapped it up as it was £4.99! I also got a Nails Inc set, they put the security tab in a really awkward place and i couldn't get it off so sorry about that, i actually had bought the exact same Sprinkles polish for £11 from Debenhams but my boyfriend accidentally hoovered it up... the nail polish dried inside the hoover and the glass broke everywhere... so when i saw a set of 3 worth £33 for £12.99 i had to have it and i'm actually glad he broke it now!

If you don't know me by now you will know i have a real thing about mugs so when i saw this Barbie one i had to grab it, I'm such a girly girl! The mug was £2.99. With my free £10 gift card it only came to about £11 for these 3.. not bad!

Oh Lola! by Marc Jacobs: Perfume Review

Flower Power

Hello you lovely lot, this is a perfume review of the lovely Oh Lola! by Marc Jacobs. I had the original Lola by Marc Jacobs, but it ran out and so for Valentine's day my other half got me a bottle of this baby. I loved Lola as it's sweet floral scent made it such a versatile scent to wear at any time of day for any occasion. Oh Lola! Is much the same and is described as being a flirty facet of the original Lola, vibrant and playful, irresistable sophistication. Where do they get this stuff? Anyways, it smells great and is my current perfume of choice.

If you like flirty, playful, girly floral scents you should check it out! £37 for 30ml and £47 for 50ml from Boots. I originally got a 30ml bottle of Juicy Couture something or other, but i made the boy take it back and landed myself with a 50ml instead of Oh Lola! that i will actually use and that i love.

Estee Lauder Double Wear VS. Vichy Dermablend: Foundation

Foundation Faceoff

Hi everyone, this post is a comparison of two foundations i currently own and use that i have found to be similar in some respects, therefore i decided to do a comparison in order to investigate my hunch (not physical) further. These two foundations are favourites of mine because they are both blendable, buildable and full coverage. I know many people prefer light finishes, dewy foundations, gel foundations, cream, each to their own, however i never step out in anything less than a medium-full coverage foundation because this is when i feel most comfortable and happy with my makeup. Therefore my hunt for full coverage products is always on.

Double Wear by Estee Lauder is a firm favourite with many of us. After i was initially matched incorrectly during the popping of my double wear cherry i felt Double Wear made me look like i had been slightly tangoed, but then i discovered my true shade; FYI bone, and the love affair went from there. Double Wear impresses me as the coverage is absolutely fantastic, i'm safe with a brand i love and i can buy it again and again from virtually anywhere. The only thing that bothers me is the price, at £27.50 it is a high end foundation with the price tag to match. It really does last though and it stays in place all day long, SPF 10 is also a nice little factor however i personally wouldn't wear this foundation on the beach as it would feel like an oil slick leaving my face to be honest, not a nice thought - but good to know for everyday summer use.

However, i recently discovered Dermablend by Vichy Laboratories. This is a fluid corrective foundation which claims to last 16 hours (there are only 12 hours in a day and i can vouch for the 12) is suitable for sensitive skin and is a high coverage foundation with a matte finish. Dermablend has an SPF of 35, even better and is such a good price at £15.50 from Boots. Dermablend is easily blendable, buildable and delivers a finish similar to that of the Estee Lauder Doublewear foundation, but for almost half the price. There is a let down though... the colour range. Unfortunately, the Dermablend foundation is only available in a select number of, to be honest, useless shades for us pale skinned lot. The lightest colour in the range is Opal, and even this shade can come across as slightly orangey/yellow depending on your original skin tone. Opal does blend seamlessly for me, but others may have some issues and obviously this is where the Estee Lauder Double Wear would have the advantage through offering a much more flexible colour range.

I hope you enjoyed my comparison. Have you tried any of these foundations?

Lots of Love,
