Revlon Photoready Airbrush Mousse Makeup

I Wish I Had Never Bought This!

Hi everyone, how are you! I hope it's not snowing again where you are, last night i saw it coming down again and i was like NOOO! I miss the days where we used to see the sun!

This review is based on a product i really regret buying and it is the Revlon Photoready Airbrush Mousse Makeup in shade 030 Nude. I got this about a month ago now in my Boots haul as shown here. I was so excited to try this foundation and i gave it five or six goes before i made my decision about this product.

So as you already know i regret buying this and to be honest i actually really really dislike this and render it quite useless. Even the name annoys me now, which i know is a bit much but come on just call it a foundation already! The mousse formulation is messy and i dislike the fact that when you press down so much excess product comes out. You may have seen this yourselves as in the Boots stores all of the testers are spurting everywhere and it looks so messy!

Also, application is best with the fingers and i don't find this product either workable or buildable to be honest. After a few hours i noticed white patches appearing on my face where the product had moved around or disappeared. Therefore in terms of longevity, for me this just doesn't cut it. I appreciate that some out there may adore this product but i feel it is important for me to put my view across especially seeing as this foundation retails at £12.99, which isn't cheap. Would i say i am 'photoready' when wearing this foundation? No. Would i say it gives me an 'airbrush' look? No.

What do you think of this foundation, have you tried it?

Happy Hibiscus Lipstick by MAC

Not So Happy About Hibiscus

Hey lovely readers, i hope you have all had a fabulous weekend! This review is of a Sheen Supreme Lipstick by MAC called Happy Hibiscus. I picked this up from the Cheshire Oaks Outlet on my way back from a fabulous overnight stay in Morecambe for a friend's birthday. This was £9 and i got this because i thought the colour was so pretty, i haven't seen this lipstick before and i wanted to try my first MAC sheen supreme lipstick.

Here's a swatch for your enjoyment!

As you can see, Happy Hibiscus is a gorgeous pale pink/light lilac colour which is obviously an ode to the hibiscus flower. This swatches beautifully and the creaminess of the lipstick shines through. Next i applied Happy Hibiscus, but to be completely honest with you i'm not overwhelmed by the application, i'll show you first and then explain afterwards:

I found this lipstick SO difficult to apply to the point where i literally felt like "how do i put this on right??" because it took so long for me to achieve full lip coverage and it felt as if the lipstick was moving around on my lips. This lipstick also seemed to cling to certain areas of my lips leaving other parts unfilled, which can obviously look a bit weird. I'm not convinced by the colour payoff either as to me, once applied this colour appears to be lighter than the original swatch and to get this level of colour took a lot of applications.

In all, i'm not really keen on having to take so much time and care in order to apply my lipstick, what if i'm in a rush? I think i prefer the other MAC lipstick formulations, therefore i will steer clear from the sheen supremes in future.

What do you think of this lipstick and what are your experiences of the Sheen Supreme lipsticks?

Lots of love,

Glossybox February 2013 Review

Will You Be My Valentine?

I was so excited to wake up to my Glossybox this morning and i have to say, i am pretty impressed with this months Valentine's Day themed box, extra credits for it being pink, yay!

What did i get?

1. Beat the Blues Iridescent Skin Illuminator by MEMEME Cosmetics

I am pleased to receive this as the shade 'oyster gold' is very wearable for me and i would love to see how this compares to Benefit's High Beam.

2. Miners Cosmetics Lip Colour in Pink Shimmer

I have never tried this brand before but pink lipsticks are something that are again very wearable for me as i seem to collect them! I will enjoy giving this a try.

3. Rose Otto Body Cream by Balance Me

Products by this brand seem to keep appearing but i have never had a complaint about them as yet. I'm not sure how far this will go as it is only 30ml which IMO is a bit steep for £6! This might cover my legs a couple of times but that's it i think. However, still keen to try this as i haven't done before!

4. Mineral Eye Shadow by Micabella Cosmetics in shade 53 'Deep Secrets'

I have not tried this brand before but mineral cosmetics are something i enjoy using on a regular basis. This shade is definitely something i can incorporate into my existing selection and i will enjoy trying this! Wow seriously impressed with this box so far!

5. Figs and Rouge Lip Balm in 'Rambling Rose'

I am pleased i received this flavour lip balm as the others were peppermint and tea tree and cherry vanilla, whilst cherry vanilla sounds good i wouldn't have wanted peppermint and tea tree as that would be too similar to last months lip balm for me.

So we do have another lip balm but this is a brand i have been wanting to try for so long and i for one can never have enough lip balms, so this gets no complaints from me!

6. Heart Shaped Lolly

Aww this is so cute and has obviously kindly been included as an extra gift, possible for all the lonely hearts out there!

Overall, i am so happy with this box and i think i will go out on a limb and say that this is the best box i have received from Glossybox, to be honest the products couldn't have been better for me because im a girly girl who loves pink. The inclusion of pink and the rose theme from the body cream and the lip balm is so lovely and i am over the moon!

I appreciate this months Glossybox may not be to everybody's taste, but i am very happy with this one!

NOTD - Suzi Says Feng Shui

Ying and Yang

Hi everyone! How are we all?

I just announced the winner of my MAC giveaway and i want to say a big huge pooches and cream thankyou to everyone who took the time to enter and read my blog. The winner was the lovely Aimie!

Don't worry, i hope to do many more giveaways to say thankyou for your support and so you know you as blog readers are much loved!

This post shows my NOTD which is by OPI who are probably my favourite nail polish (or should i say lacquer?) brand. I have been a fan of them for so long and i love all the names they give and the collections that they produce as they're so witty and cute.

Here is Suzi Says Feng Shui:

I love this polish because i don't have many blues in my collection and this is a really lovely shade to own.

Urban Decay - The Glinda Palette

Oz The Great and Powerful

Hi gorgeous readers, i hope you are all feeling well and i hope you're having a good week!

This post is based on the upcoming movie "Oz The Great and Powerful" which will be released into cinemas on the 8th of March. In line with this release, Urban Decay have designed two palettes based on the movie which are the Glinda and Theodora palettes. When i found out they would be available online exclusively from Debenhams i was so excited because i've been looking forward to the Glinda palette for such a long time now.

So, here's my review!

As you can see six gorgeous shades are included in the Glinda palette two of which are duo shades. This palette also includes a Glinda lip pencil and a 24/7 Glide on eye pencil.

Now some swatches, prepare for a colour experience!

Here are the swatches for the eye pencil and the lip color! (Yes i'm spelling it the american way a la UD)

What do you think of this palette? I apologise that this review is so picture heavy, but as this was £35 to purchase i hope to inform you of the colour payoff if/before you part with your hard earned monies!

I think this palette is beautiful and i am so in love with it. The individual eyeshadows pop in and out of their special spaces, the ONLY niggle i have is that the shade Oz keeps popping out one side! But i can live with this :-)

I hope you like my review, stay tuned for my makeup look featuring the Glinda palette as i am about to get experimenting!

Covergirl Lashblastluxe Mascara

Lay It On Thick

Hi lovely readers!

This post is a review of the Covergirl Lashblastluxe mascara, which i got during my TK Maxx haul yesterday, as shown here.

This mascara is in shade Black Emerald and claims to contain a hint of shimmer!

I put it to the test...

The brush looks good but at this point i am a little annoyed because the brush and the bit you hold is a tiny bit wobbly so when you move it it wiggles! This makes me worry the wand is about to fall off or something!

However, i do like that the mascara container has been sealed shut, i like things which promote hygiene as if you think about it mascara wands must roll around in the product for possibly ages before we go to buy it!

Here's a swatch... i don't know about you but i was half expecting this mascara to be green? However it isn't!

The swatch looks a tad dry IMO but i am thinking this is because the product has settled so i gave it a good shake. I can see some kind of green tone to this mascara in the swatch, which i like.

Here is a double dose of my eyeball x 2 so you can see the effects of this mascara, before and after application!

"Hey, check out my eyeball!"

Well, what can i say, i am seriously seriously impressed with the results and i kid you not, my lashes look just as good as when i use my regular mascara (FYI: YSL Shocking) and this is even without using eyelash curlers! Wowweee!

As this mascara was only £3.99 from TK Maxx i think this is extra super dooper snazzywoo and it is definitely not green. I'm not sure i see a shimmer (almost said she a shimmer) haha, but this mascara is amazing!

What do you think of this mascara?

TK Maxx Haul

I Had A Ball During My Haul

Hi lovely readers! I hope everyone is feeling happy, thank god it's Friday eh!

I got my hair done this morning and 1) it cost a fortune and 2) they didn't do my roots! Well, not in my opinion. So after i got ripped off (this seems to be happening a lot lately), i went into TK Maxx to have a good old browse in the beauty section to see if there were any goodies.

I *LOVE* TK Maxx because you can really get some great bargains across the board really such as clothing, shoes, homewares and such. I feel like i got some really great bargains today!

What did i get?

1. Butter London Holiday Lippy Trio

I have never tried Butter London nail varnish or their lip glosses even though i have heard great things so when i saw this i snapped it up. These were £10 for the 3, i almost bought 2 of these recently from a blog sale but i'm glad i didn't as these were cheaper and the colours look so glittery and sparkly! I think the RRP on these is about £28 for a similar set on Amazon so i feel like i got a bit of a bargain!

2. Paris Hilton by Elegant Touch 'Super Girly' Eyelashes

These caught my eye as the price of lashes these days is well over a fiver pretty much, but these were £2.40. I like the look of these because they have pink glitter around the edge and i think they would be lovely for a pretty, girly look.

3. Loreal 24 Hour Lash Boosting Power System

This i am SO excited to try because i have not seen this anywhere before! This includes a double ended mascara with one end a lash boosting primer and the other a mascara wand for daywear. Also included is a lash serum which you apply at night in order to improve your 'lash health'. I can't wait to see the results of this! This was £7.99.

4. Ionika Professional Paddle Brush

Wow! What can i say i have never seen a more girly product! This is totally up my street as i've been looking for a paddle brush for a while, the diamantes and the pink design look fabulous! This was £7.99.

5. Laidbare 'Working 9 to 5' Anti-Ageing Hydration Cream

This is a brand i haven't tried before and what attracted me was the 'laid bare only the right ingredients' approach adopted by this brand, as no petrochemicals, sulfates, parabens, synthetic fragrance or colour or animal testing is employed. This gets a massive thumbs up from me. This cream contains Gotu Kola and Iceland Moss extract and works by stimulating collagen production, which sounds just fabulous. This was £4.00.

6. Covergirl LashBlastLuxe Mascara in Black Emerald

As a brand i really like Covergirl and i tried their products whilst i was in the US two years ago. This is a mega volume shimmering mascara and claims to be 'irridescent' ooooh! Can't wait to try this one out! This was £3.99.

What do you think of my haul lovelies?
